Reporting a Death
In the event of a death, a death certificate needs to be issued by a doctor. The death must then be reported to the registry office responsible at the place of death. If the death occurs in hospital, a nursing or retirement home, the management of the hospital or home is required to report the death. In other cases, the relatives are obliged to report the death.
A funeral service may be called to handle transport to the cemetery or repatriation abroad. The registry office responsible at the place of death provides information on the procedure and the necessary documents.
